Emerald Quay is situated in Shoreham Harbour on the South Coast 9 miles west of Brighton. It is a modern apartment complex which owes it's existence to the presence of a small integral marina with 20 berths, due to the original plans for the complex being refused in the early 80's unless a marina was included in the design. The luxury development was finally opened in 1986 by the distinguished yachtsman Chey Blythe.

The marina berths are all privately owned, the majority by Emerald Quay residents. The marina is tidal but the integral gate system means that the berths never dry out and offer easy access to the English Channel and the beautiful river Adur is available 2 to 3 hours either side of high tide.

The Birth Holders Association ensures that both the bertholders and residents enjoy a peaceful coexistence and that the marina and surrounding area remains well maintained and safe for users and visitors alike.
